Explore the wild side of Croatia as you support conservation efforts in Europe’s most biodiverse country.
About the Puljane Research Centre
Puljane Research Centre is a beautifully restored building right outside the border of Krka National Park. The centre is owned by a Croatian company called BIOTA, which uses the center as a base for ongoing scientific research and reforestation programs within the area. Aimed at supporting local communities and conserving the environment, the Puljane Research Centre offers a range of eco- and educational tours to undisturbed natural areas within and around the park which generate income for local conservation efforts. Join us in Puljane to participate hands-on in conservation monitoring (ever seen a wolf on a camera trap in your backyard?) and visit the hidden waterfalls and lakes of Krka National Park.
Our Accommodations and Adventures
At the Puljane Research Centre you can entirely retreat into nature, explore the hidden gems of Krka and immerse yourself in traditional Croatian culture. The Centre is located only 15 minutes away from the nearest town, where you can find local shops and restaurants to try Croatian cuisine.
The Puljane Research Centre offers boutique hostel-style rooms (2-8 people) with a good internet connection, hot water showers, and the stunning Krka River on your doorstep. However, if you are more adventurous, you can also sleep in a tent under the stars.
During your stay, you will have the opportunity to explore some off-the-beaten-path locations around the park with the tours we offer. Imagine spotting unique wildlife with your own eyes, or reaching the peak of Promina mountain for a spectacular view and a glass of Rakija, the local beverage of choice (beware, it is strong!). You will also explore the emerald-green waters of the Cetina River and take a refreshing swim during the burning hot summer days in the water basin of the Zrmanja River. Looking for more adventure?
