Rescue Diver Course (Silba Island)

Rescue Diver is considered one of the toughest courses, ane one of the most rewarding, as you will learn how to prevent and solve problems in the water. It will make you a more confident diver as you learn to navigate potential accident scenarios including medical issues and equipment failures. It is a great course for anyone to help ensure they are prepared to help others if the need arises.

The Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills. Topics include:

  • Self rescue
  • Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
  • Emergency management and equipment
  • Rescuing panicked divers
  • Rescuing unresponsive divers

Course Duration:  3-4 days with up to 2 dives per day for in-water practicals.  You will finish the course with a Rescue Diver certification and a CPR certificate. Cost includes all certification materials.

Note: You must demonstrate your dive certification to participate in this course. The Rescue Diver course is only available for participants in the Volunteer Placement program on Silba Island.
